About the DEH-i Series

The DanVex DEH-i Series is a range of mobile industrial dehumidifiers for environments where the humidity problem changes location, scale or duration: construction projects, warehouses with seasonal loads, food and pharmaceutical production facilities, drying rooms, water-damage restoration and industrial workshops.

The four models cover capacities from 59 to 180 litres per day. All units run on R-290 refrigerant, use Hot Gas Defrost for continuous operation in cold conditions and carry an E-Coating heat exchanger resistant to salts, mild acids and the cleaning chemistry of industrial environments. Every model has a high-pressure centrifugal fan instead of the axial fans common on budget mobile units: higher static pressure, steadier airflow against loading filters and better performance at low temperature.

Three models — DEH-500i, DEH-900i and DEH-1200i — come in a wheeled-trolley format with a built-in 10-litre tank and a direct-drain option. The DEH-1900i is an industrial rolling cabinet for large halls and continuous duty: direct drain only, and its two duct ports allow dry air to be distributed to two adjacent zones. Modbus RTU RS-485 is standard across the range for BMS / SCADA integration; the DEH-1900i adds Wi-Fi for app control alongside Modbus.

How long does it take to dry a flooded room with a mobile dehumidifier?
Drying time depends on the volume of absorbed water, the materials affected and the dehumidifier capacity relative to the area. A practical estimate for a typical residential or light-commercial flood: a single 30–60 m² room with wet floor, walls and furniture dries in 3–7 days with a correctly sized DEH-i unit (DEH-500i or DEH-900i) running continuously with openings closed. Timber, plaster and solid masonry dry more slowly than carpet or laminate. For multi-room or extensive flooding, professional restoration practice is to deploy several distributed units rather than one large central one. For any drying task longer than 24 hours, direct drain to a fixed point is recommended instead of the tank.
Built-in tank or direct drain — which is better?
Both are supported on the DEH-500i, DEH-900i and DEH-1200i — the site decides. Direct drain to a floor drain or hose is the right option for continuous unattended operation: the unit runs indefinitely without the tank overflowing. The built-in 10-litre tank is convenient where no drain exists (renovations, upper-floor restoration) and has auto-stop when full. Over years of field deployment DanVex has seen standard uncoated exchangers fail within months in these conditions. E-Coating — applied by electro-deposition without solvents — forms a sealed protective layer on the aluminium fins and copper tubes that resists corrosion across these environments. It is standard on every DEH-i unit, not an option — because mobile equipment gives no guarantee of where it will be deployed next.
Can a mobile industrial dehumidifier run unattended for days?
Yes. The DEH-i Series is designed for continuous unattended operation. Three things make this possible: direct drain to a fixed point removes the tank-emptying limit; the on/off timer schedules operation around work shifts or off-peak electricity hours; and Hot Gas Defrost prevents evaporator icing overnight or in cold conditions. The sealed R-290 circuit and the IP22-rated housing are built for unsupervised operation.
