A range of three-phase adsorption dehumidifiers from 5 to 36 kg/h on 380–415 V. For pharmaceutical cleanrooms, lithium-battery and semiconductor dry rooms, ice rinks, food production with low humidity targets, large cold storage and specialised manufacturing — installations that need high capacity and a low dew point, often at low ambient temperature. Standard across the series: a Proflute silica-gel rotor, a two-fan design with belt-driven rotor, an electric regeneration heater, a G4 panel filter, IPX3 protection, IP54 / Class F fan motors and Modbus RTU RS-485 connectivity. About the AD Industrial Series

The AD Industrial Series takes adsorption dehumidification to factory scale. The models cover capacities from 5 kg/h (AD-800) to 36 kg/h (AD-5000), all on three-phase 380–415 V. Process airflow from 820 to 5000 m³/h at 200 Pa static pressure on the AD-800/1000/1500 and 600 Pa on the AD-3000/5000 — sufficient for facility-wide ductwork and integrated air handling. Regeneration by electric heater (30 kW on the AD-3000; 60 kW on the AD-5000). The process and regeneration streams are handled by two independent centrifugal fans with a belt-driven rotor — the standard configuration of industrial adsorption equipment, with simplified rotor access through a single service door.

The series divides naturally into two tiers. The AD-800, AD-1000 and AD-1500 are the workhorse tier: powder-coated steel housings, a touch-screen controller with RS-485, G4 panel filter, IPX3 protection, IP54 fan motors with Class F insulation, and a −20…+40 °C range. The AD-3000 and AD-5000 are the premium tier: a polyurethane double-wall housing in a thermal-bridge-free aluminium frame, a condensation-free surface in normal operation, a programmable PLC with a 7″ screen and a range extended to +60 °C ambient (the wider range matters for hot ducted installations and AHU-integrated duty). Which model should I choose?

Capacity and tier drive the choice. The AD-800…AD-1500 share one engineering platform and scale by airflow and rotor size. The AD-3000 and AD-5000 are the premium tier; both have the PLC, the double-wall housing and the extended range, and the difference between them is pure capacity.

Proflute rotor + sizing software

The rotor is from Proflute — one of the two leading European manufacturers of adsorption rotors. A stable adsorption curve and a 5–8-year life in non-corrosive service. Every project is sized in the original Proflute rotor-selection software — thermodynamic modelling of the process and regeneration streams, not room-volume rules of thumb.

Two fans + belt-driven rotor

Two independent centrifugal fans for process and regeneration; room pressure preserved. The rotor is belt-driven by a small geared motor (0.1 kW; 1:800 reduction on the AD-3000 and 1:1200 on the AD-5000) — the standard industrial configuration with rotor service through a single access door.

Thermal-bridge-free double-wall housing

The AD-3000 and AD-5000 feature a double-wall panel with injected polyurethane foam and a thermal-bridge-free aluminium frame with a thermal break. The housing surface stays condensation-free in normal operating conditions — eliminating the recurring moisture problem of standard AHU casings in cold or humid service.

Programmable PLC + 7″ touch screen

The AD-3000 and AD-5000 include an industrial-grade PLC with customisable set-points, schedules and alarm thresholds and full telemetry over RS-485. A 7″ touch screen on the cabinet door for local operation. Industrial-grade circuit components and relays from established European companies.

Modbus RTU RS-485

BMS integration is standard on every model. The unit appears on the BMS or SCADA as a Modbus slave — humidity set-point, current readings, regeneration-heater status, alarms and run-hour counters, all over RS-485 without a protocol gateway.

G4 panel filter + IPX3 protection

A G4 panel filter (EN 779:2012) in an aluminium-alloy frame ahead of the rotor — coarse and medium particles are removed before reaching the silica gel. IPX3 housing rating; fan motors with IP54 protection and Class F insulation across the series.

Why does adsorption work where condensation dehumidifiers stop?
Condensation dehumidification relies on cooling air below its dew point on a cold coil. Below about +5 °C ambient the coil itself drops below zero and begins to ice up — Hot Gas Defrost cycles delay this but do not remove it. At 0 °C condensation capacity degrades; below −5 °C the technology stops being practical. Adsorption is a chemical-affinity process: water vapour is captured directly onto silica gel by physical adsorption, independently of room temperature — the rotor handles moisture at −20 °C as it does at +20 °C. Regeneration uses an electric heater warming a smaller secondary stream that drives the moisture out of the rotor — so room temperature never enters the limiting equation on the adsorption side.
Does the dehumidifier work at ambient temperatures above +40 °C?
Most industrial dehumidifiers are rated to a +40 °C ambient maximum, beyond which they either shut down on protection or fail thermally. Condensation units lose capacity quickly above +40 °C as pressures rise, and trip on high-pressure protection in truly hot atmospheres; budget adsorption units — without rated electrical components and suitable bearing tolerances — overheat. The DanVex AD Industrial (upper tier) extends the operating range to +60 °C ambient: built for hot-climate installations (the UAE and the Middle East, where summer temperatures regularly exceed +40 °C), for integration into AHU paths where the unit sits in a pre-heated stream rather than a conditioned room, and for hot industrial zones (foundries, drying lines, bakery halls). The exact limits of each model are in the specification table.
Can adsorption and condensation be combined in one facility?
Yes — and for many large facilities it is the most economical configuration. A hybrid scheme uses condensation dehumidifiers in warm production zones (room temperature, target 40–60% RH) where condensation is energy-efficient, and AD Industrial adsorption units in cold or low-humidity zones that condensation cannot reach. Example: a pharmaceutical plant runs its general production halls on condensation units and its dry rooms with sub-zero dew points on AD-3000/5000. Both technologies on Modbus RTU RS-485: the whole installation reports to one BMS on one screen with coordinated zone set-points.
What is the energy cost of the regeneration heater?
The regeneration heater is the main energy consumer of an adsorption unit. The AD-3000 uses a 30 kW heater and the AD-5000 a 60 kW heater; the smaller models less. This is a higher specific energy per litre of water removed than condensation at ordinary room temperature — which is why adsorption is chosen by environment (cold, very dry), not in every case. In cold or very dry environments where condensation cannot work at all, the comparison is not energy efficiency but feasibility. Many installations offset regeneration energy with waste heat from a separate process, off-peak electricity tariffs or heat recovery from the exhaust stream.
How does adsorption work in an ice rink?
In an ice rink the ice surface holds the room dew point above zero; warm humid incoming air condenses on the roof structure, steel trusses and seating. The solution is to keep the room-air dew point below the ice-surface temperature, typically below −5 °C dew point. Condensation dehumidifiers cannot reach that at hall operating temperatures (+12…+15 °C above the ice). Adsorption can: an AD-3000 or AD-5000 with ducted distribution along the roof draws in the cold humid air, dries it to the target dew point and returns it. Continuous operation through the season; the set-point via the PLC controller.
How does adsorption work in a lithium-battery dry room?
Lithium-cell production requires extremely dry air at electrode coating and electrolyte filling — typically a dew point below −40 °C, i.e. under 1% RH at room temperature. Condensation cannot reach such targets — only adsorption. An AD-3000 or AD-5000 is configured for the dry room: housing tightness supporting the room's own leakage budget, continuous duty, BMS integration for logging and audit trail, pre-conditioning of the incoming make-up air. Sizing in the Proflute software is essential here — capacity at −40 °C dew point differs greatly from the nameplate figure measured at 20 °C / 60% RH.
What are the maintenance intervals for the filter, rotor and belt?
G4 panel filter — quarterly inspection and cleaning as found (vacuumed or washed and dried; typically every 3–6 months in industrial environments, more often in dusty ones); the filter is cleaned and refitted, it is not a consumable. Rotor drive belt — annual tension and wear check; replacement every 3–5 years or earlier if visibly worn. Silica-gel rotor — an expected life of 5–8 years in non-corrosive service with regeneration below 140 °C (DanVex AD units are designed to run below that limit). Rotor replacement is a service operation, not a unit replacement: rotor access through a single service door in the housing. Full maintenance documentation and a spare-parts list accompany every unit.
How long does the silica-gel rotor last, and why?
From 5 to 8 years in non-corrosive industrial service. Two factors shorten rotor life, and neither is a normal operating condition: corrosive contaminants in the process air (chlorine-laden cleaning vapours, organic acids, salt spray, ammonia) that attack the silica gel itself, and regeneration overheating (above 140 °C) that damages the substrate thermally. DanVex AD units run regeneration below the thermal threshold by design, keeping the rotor within its rated life. The rotor is from Proflute with documented adsorption curves and material certificates — not an anonymous OEM part of unknown silica-gel grade.
How is the right model sized for my project?
Adsorption capacity is far more sensitive than condensation to inlet temperature and humidity, target dew point and required airflow — so "litres per day per cubic metre" rules are misleading here.
